Devil Fruits Devil Fruits are mystical fruits found in the world that can give the eater many different and varying kinds of strange and interesting abilities, depending on the type and variation of the Fruit itself. Devil Fruits are said to be the fruits of the Sea Devil and that the secret to their power is hidden in the Grand Line. Because encounters with them are rare (especially outside the Grand Line), a number of rumors about them have risen, making it difficult to tell whether some things are fact or fiction. The average person knows nothing or very little about what they are or what they do; this especially applies to people in isolated countries, even within the Grand Line, such as those of Amazon Lily and Wano Country. One running theme with Devil Fruits, however, is the fact that they taste unimaginably bad, to the point of making it seem like the user had taken poison. The Devil Fruit, when consumed, gives the consumer a power or special trait, which they will immediately become aware of; a person who has eaten a Devil Fruit and gained its powers is known as a Devil Fruit User. They come in different shapes and colors, and all Devil Fruits presumably have swirl marks or patterns on them of some kind. Only one bite is needed for the user to gain the power of a Devil Fruit, after which the Devil Fruit becomes a simple, useless, disgusting fruit. Despite this, all users tend to eat the entire fruit, as they are usually unaware of this fact. The moment a Devil Fruit User dies, the ability they had from the fruit is reborn into another fruit somewhere in the world. It is not possible to reclaim the Fruit's power with a new character. If a character dies and they had a Devil Fruit, that fruit can be quested or rolled for by someone else. Rules
Obtaining a Devil Fruit There are four different ways for a character to obtain a Devil Fruit. And these are the only ways they can be obtained. Doing everything correctly will keep you from getting in trouble.
In addition to the rules for a PSA, please make a post in the Admin's Quarters before beginning. This will notify one of our staff members to monitor and approve your progress. Paramecia Devil Fruits • Superhuman System Paramecia is a class of Devil Fruits that grants power that affects the user's body, manipulation of the environment, or produce substances. Although it allows certain types of transformations, it does not operate in the same way as Logia and Zoan Devil Fruits. The Paramecia class is the most commonly seen type of Devil Fruits. Strengths The Paramecia fruits grant users an ability that can be classified only as "Superhuman". The Paramecia fruits also contain the greatest variation of powers evident so far, compared to Logia and Zoan fruits. With it having such an advantage, even the physically weak can make use of the abilities they are granted to, at least, slightly increase their chances in combat. The primary focus on the fighting styles of users does not have to rely on the physical strengths or fighting skills of the individual themselves, and is usually more focused on the users' creativity and initiative. The Paramecia group, therefore, can even make fighters out of weak individuals. Although the abilities can be exploited and manipulated in a variety of ways, the extent of useful attacks or strategies depend greatly on the users themselves. Some consumers may encounter inspiration for a new attack after using a particular set of attacks for years, while others may never learn how to completely harness their skills. Weaknesses The Paramecia type is the only group containing powers or special traits that may be considered "useless" to the user, granting little or no real advantage whatsoever depending on the situation. In short, the aspect of the devil fruit being "useless" may sometimes be due to the user not being accustomed to it efficiently deploying the abilities they receive. Their abilities may also end up proving completely useless in some situations where they would normally otherwise have been quite formidable. Therefore, even the best of fighters may be strained to be able to use their abilities to the fullest. Paramecia users are also considered the easiest to battle, since they can be predictable and often display their full abilities within a very short period of time. The results and capabilities of these fruits are therefore limited to the creativity of the user in any given scenario to overcome the limits and predictability of the fruits. If a Paramecia user is knocked out or killed, the affects of their fruits are reversed. Some fruits are majorly dependent on the external environment and situation in order for the abilities to activate or be useful. For example, there is a Devil Fruit that is better used in a stone-filled area and one that requires a needle for use. Zoan Devil Fruits • Animal System Zoan is a class of Devil Fruits that allows for animal-like transformations and abilities. The user can transform into another species and inter-species hybrid forms. Human Form: This form is simply known as the user's natural form. Human-Beast Form: A hybrid form, combining both the original and the fruit-bestowed species into an unusual form (usually in a bizarre way where the size is greatly exaggerated). Beast Form: A fully transformed type. Through harsh training, it is possible for a greater variant of transformations to be unlocked. One may learn the ability to transform a certain body part into a more beast-like shape, or become something more monstrous than before. Strengths The Zoan fruits primarily improve physical abilities and allow the user to use his or her three forms to adapt to a situation during a fight to find the form that gives the biggest advantage. Zoan powers are usually utilized for their hybrid form, as this form enhances the physical statistics of the user by combining positive attributes from both the user and the physical-level equivalent of the Zoan species. Zoan fruits are thus favored among already strong users who prefer to enhance their physical abilities for the use of martial arts. This can help create new fighting styles. Another rather minor advantage is that depending on the scenario, a Zoan user can go undetected by simply changing the physical form they have to one unfamiliar to those around them. It also offers the element of surprise when the foe has little experience with fighting that particular form. In their hybrid form, Zoan users experience enhanced senses, as this form uses a combination of both the user's and the fruit's abilities. Skilled Zoan users are also capable of using their powers to shape-shift out of harm's way; this is particularly useful, especially when the Zoan's body has been restrained. Weaknesses Physical powers granted are restricted to just the capabilities of the proportionate physical equivalent of the animal they are able to transform into. In hybrid form, these strengths of both species may be combined, but again seems to be just a mixture of both forms. While it is true that they enhance the strengths of the consumer, they rely primary on the consumer's already-established fighting skills and capabilities. Therefore, depending on what species the user is and what the fruit has to offer, a Zoan fruit's abilities may end up nothing more than a physical change of appearance to that particular consumer. However this does not mean the fruit itself was worthless, as all Devil Fruits are subject to fate on who consumes them. Like the Paramecia, Zoans may leave their users as "freaks" in their hybrid form due to the way that the combination of both physical forms is mashed together. This can lead some to being ostracized by villagers and other crews sailing the seas. Zoan Sub-Classes Standard Zoan Class: This class of Zoan Devil Fruits includes modern day animals that are commonly seen around the world. It is not unusual to see some of the most carnivorous animal forms in this class. In combat, users become quite dangerous with their newfound abilities. Ancient Zoan Class: A much rarer class of the Zoan Devil Fruits. Users are granted the forms and abilities of prehistoric and other ancient animals from around the world. It is certainly more rare than the Standard Class. Mythical Zoan Class: To date, the Mythical Class is exceptionally rare, possibly more than Logia Devil Fruits. Users can transform into creatures known only in myths such as the phoenix. Unique powers are granted to the user who ingests this type of Zoan fruit. Artificial Zoan Class: Over 500 years ago, artificial Devil Fruits were created in order to build a mighty army. Countless times, it was a failed operation that resulted in poor control of the transformations. Today, there are still Artificial Class fruits that result in permanent animal characteristics, or partial transformations that cannot be reversed through methods other than death. Logia • Nature Element Logia is a type of Devil Fruit that grants users the ability to utilize elemental abilities and transformations. These Devil Fruits are considered to be the most rare and the most powerful, even after 500 years. Strengths Logia Devil Fruits allow a person to create, control, and transform their bodies into a natural element or force of nature, depending on the fruit. The user can transform partly, or completely. Inexperienced users are limited to transforming only some limbs while just starting out with Logia abilities until reaching a certain Tier. One of the greatest strengths of Logia fruits are the defensive capabilities that they have to offer. A Logia user can be shattered, split, or otherwise separated into multiple parts, sometimes down to the size of dust, and reform their bodies without injury given that their bodies are in their elemental state. This ability can be used by even the inexperienced, but users must be careful. If a limb is disconnected from the main body for 2 posts, it is lost forever and cannot be regained at all. Should the head be disconnected for 1 post, the user is killed and the fruit's abilities are passed on. Logia users are able to access a wide variety of abilities through their elemental powers. They become incredibly destructive and fearsome in combat. Some fruits can absorb the moisture in the air to replenish 5% of water for the body's hydration levels. The Mera Mera no Mi, grants immunity to the high temperatures of the deserts. Weaknesses While the Logia Devil Fruits allow magnificent abilities for the users to utilize, transformation can only be done through voluntary means. This results in sneak attacks being greatly effective, should they be successful. Users of the Busoshoku Haki can also land solid hits on Logia users even if they are in their transformed state by reverting the struck area back to normal. One can also harm Logia users by exploiting their elements and using its properties against them. For example, the lightning element is solidified when in contact with rubber. Injuries to the physical body cannot be recovered by using Devil Fruit powers. Devil Fruit Tiers Tier I All Devil Fruits begin at the lowest tier and can be trained up to higher ones through constant usage of the powers.
Tier II After Devil Fruit training has been approved by staff, the second tier is achieved. In this tier, users are more aware of their powers and can use them more effectively.
Tier III Devil Fruit training has reached the maximum. Users who have trained up to this tier are considered to be masters of the Devil Fruit and can use their abilities to the fullest.
Tier Training To be able to get stronger with these powers, training is a must. When training is being done, be sure to post in the character updates for it to be approved by staff. Tier I - Default Tier Tier I ~> Tier II - 5000 words Tier II ~> Tier III - 8000 words |
